At first thought, smells are a great way to spur memories but how can those smells help us? Aromatherapy oil claims to lower anxiety levels, create deep relaxation, increase focus, lower blood pressure, wipe away stress and increase immune system strength to name a few.  Massaging goes hand in hand with the oil, which gives me a better idea for how the whole process works. I don’t believe that buying aromatherapy oil and slopping it on yourself after work is going to lead to many stress free results but if that oil is gently rubbed in by a masseuse, I can see the effects starting to work.

From a body standpoint, aromatherapy oil contains vitamins minerals essential for healthy looking and feeling skin. The only way to find out if these kinds of oils are helpful is to try it. People have different reactions to techniques of this nature. If the oil smells good and the massage relaxes then you bet the whole process is going to leave you in a calmer state but if the massage is painful and the smell bad the results will be the same.
