The Fallacies of Aromatherapy Oil |

When something seems too good to be true, we all know what it usually is. Many people living high stress lives search for different cures, alternative medicines and practices that will make their life more manageable or relaxing. One of those practices is aromatherapy oil. Some call it the miracle cure. While I am totally on board with the benefits of a great massage with aromatherapy oil, the smells of the actual oil won’t cure stress as quickly as some claim.
We have all associated specific smells to certain memories. For instance, whenever I smell cooking tamales I think of my Grandma’s house. But on the same coin, a bad smell can bring up stressful memories. When purchasing aromatherapy oil do not take the word of someone else when choosing a smell. Different smells mean different things to different people. In order to create a stress reducing environment the person applying the aromatherapy oil must be a skilled masseuse as well. A bad massage will make you uncomfortable and more stressed out for wasting the money and time.
